Exam distribution challenges hit Northern Bahr el Ghazal

By Hou Akot Hou

Minister of Education for Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Santino Bol Akok, has appealed to partners to assist in the distribution of examination papers across the state.

With the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) exams scheduled to commence on Monday, November 18th, the state ministry is facing challenges in delivering the papers to 71 designated centers.

“Everyone knows full well that the exams are starting on Monday, and as a matter of fact, we are incapacitated in the state headquarters due to a lack of means of distributing the exams in terms of vehicles,” Akok said.

He added that the national level has instructed state officials to liaise with partners to ensure timely delivery to all centers.

Akok expressed optimism, stating that international organizations have agreed to assist in the distribution process.

To overcome the challenges posed by flooding in certain areas, the ministry has coordinated with county commissioners to ensure the manual transportation of examination materials to remote centers.

The minister also appealed to parents to allow their children to focus on their studies, urging them to avoid assigning household chores that could distract students from their revision.

As the country grapples with security challenges in some regions, it remains to be seen how effectively the distribution of examination papers will be carried out in far-flung areas.
