Ruweng Administrative Areas (RAA) has allocated 150 by 150 square meters of land for the construction of a Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) branch in its headquarters, Panrieng.
The land was shown to Central Bank Governor, Dr. James Alic Garang and his delegation on Wednesday.
Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area Tiob De Monyluak De Diran vowed to support the BoSS initiative of expanding banking services to the grassroots.
The Chief Administrator expressed that allocation of the land for the bank is aimed at giving the institution the chance to start its operation with the hope of bringing banking services nearer to people.
According to the statement, Mr.Tiob expressed that bringing branches closer to the communities would not only teach people more about banking but also come with employment.
He appreciated BoSS officials for their commitment to establishing branches across the country with the hope of delivering necessary financial services to the people.
On his part, Dr. James Alic Garang said the purpose of the visit was to assess the land for proper planning.
He expressed determination to ensure that BoSS branches are established across the country to ease banking.
The bank governor appreciated the government of the Ruweng Administrative Area for their support, justified through allocating land for the branch to be constructed.
He added that the Bank of South Sudan is on a mission to expand its branch network to increase the financial service across the country.
On a separate occasion, Bank Governor Dr. James Alic, along with other senior officials, visited Bentiu in Unity state and assessed that the land for establishment of its branch as well.
In March, the Bank of South Sudan opened a new branch in Nimule to ensure effective collection of non-oil revenue collection.
