Civil Registry unveils new fee structure for documents

Directorate of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passport and Migration has announced a revised fee structure for acquiring legal documents, effective for the Financial Year 2024-2025.

In a circular dated December 12, that comes into force on December 16, 2024, directed all the immigration visas, passports and other relevant documents charged in U.S. Dollars, and also in equivalence of the prevailing Central Bank rate for those paying in South Sudanese Pounds [SSP].

In the new structure, processing a new nationality certificate costs SSP 15,000. While replacing a lost one costs at least SSP 30,000.

Regular passports for adults cost only $100, while that one for minors takes only $50 – valid for at least 5 years.
The fee for accessing a business passport is $400, a diplomatic passport $200, an official passport $100, special passport $100. While replacing a lost passport costs only $100, and unused passports also cost $100.

A single visa for other countries except the USA is $100. A single visa for American citizens costs $160. Regional multiple visas for 3-months cost $125. Multiple visas for other countries take $200. Six-month multiple visas for regional and other countries cost $350 each.

Acquiring other documents including an entry permit for 30 days costs $20. Registration sticker for 6-months $30.

Resident permit for 1 year, $430. A resident permit for 3 years is $840. Resident permit for 3 years, $1,260. Resident permit for 5-years, $1,680.

South Sudan origin cards for 5 years, $400 and emergency travelling documents for 3 months cost only $15.
