A 55-year-old man named Aleu Dhieu Aleu was reportedly killed by suspected robbers in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.
The incident occurred last Saturday in Maduany Payam of Aweil West County, according to a report from local administration.
Mr. Albino Akol, the Payam administrator of Maduany, confirmed that two suspects, aged 18 and 19, have been apprehended for questioning.
“These suspects allegedly followed the deceased from the market after he bought goods and still had some cash on him. They trailed him on his way back home and attacked him around 6 PM, punching him on the neck until he fell unconscious,” Albino explained.
He further warned that such criminal behavior is punishable under the laws of the land.
