Jamus FC extends lead to 7 points

Juba Stadium witnessed Jamus FC secure a decisive 2-0 victory against Holy Family FC on Saturday afternoon, widening their lead to seven points at the top of the South Sudan Premier League.

Central African attacker Christian Theodore and Cameroonian striker George Rodrigue delivered early goals for Jamus FC, netting in the 14th and 33rd minutes of the first half, respectively. This performance extended the Buffaloes’ unbeaten streak to 13 matches, comprising 11 wins and 2 draws.

Theodore was awarded Man of the Match for his pivotal role in the 2-0 triumph over Holy Family FC. With this victory, Jamus FC now boasts 35 points from 13 games, while Holy Family FC maintains its second-place position with 28 points, a point ahead of third place Kator FC as the first round concludes. The second round is scheduled to commence in two weeks.

During the match, Jamus FC defender Mohammed Kesra sustained a head injury, adding to the club’s injury list, which already includes Malish Ezibon and Benjamin Laku Lotelek. The duration of Kesra’s absence remains uncertain.

Following their Saturday victory, the Buffaloes departed Juba for a residential training camp in Kampala-Uganda on Sunday, preparing for the second round’s resumption.

In a separate match at Buluk Playground, Olympic FC came from behind to overcome Nile City 4-2. Olympic FC’s Butrus Charles was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance in the team’s victory over Nile City in a previously postponed match.

Olympic FC is set to face Wajuma FC on Tuesday, March 2024, at 3:30 PM in Juba Stadium, in a rescheduled match.
