By Morris Dogga

Weather experts have warned that extremely high temperatures are expected to persist across western, central, and northern parts of the country.

Temperatures are expected to range between 38°C and 42°C.

According to an alert by South Sudan Meteorological Services, high temperatures will continue for the next week in areas such as Central Equatoria, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Upper Nile, and Western Equatoria.

From March 12th to March 17th, 2025, the peak heat will be felt during the afternoon hours, particularly between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, when the sun’s intensity is at its highest.

These conditions may result in heat stress, according to the weathermen, urging the general public to take preventive measures.

The Met service advises that citizens in the mentioned areas should limit outdoor activities during the most intense heat of the day, specifically from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Furthermore, citizens are encouraged to dress in lightweight, breathable fabrics suitable for high temperatures and ensure adequate hydration by consuming plenty of water throughout the day.
