Three cabinet ministers take oath

Three new cabinet ministers took the oath of office at the Presidential palace, in a formal ceremony held yesterday.

The process, administered by the Chief Justice was overseen by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

The officials who took the oath included Dr. Wek Mamer, who will be serving as the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs; Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, appointed as the Minister of General Education and Instruction; and Atong Kuol Manyang, who steps into the role of Minister of Trade and Industry.

Each Minister is now charged with the task of steering their departments toward impactful reforms and advancements.

In his address, President Kiir emphasized the paramount importance of establishing a robust and effective government to meet the needs of the people of South Sudan.

“We have come to a stage where we should now establish a strong government to serve the people, go ahead with your work”, Kiir told the new Ministers.

Senior Presidential Advisor Kuol Manyang Juuk also expressed hope and confidence in the capabilities of the new appointees, urging them to enhance the performance of their respective ministries.

He stressed that their efforts are vital for the nation’s progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Cabinet Affairs Minister Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro called for a collaborative spirit among government agencies, highlighting that such cooperation is essential for the government to achieve its overarching objectives effectively.

Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth echoed the sentiments, encouraging the new Ministers to dedicate themselves fully to serving the populace through their ministries, recognizing that their input and leadership will play a critical role in shaping the future of the country.
