Juba, Riyadh discuss bilateral relations

On Wednesday, President Salva Kiir Mayardit welcomed a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed bin Abdulkarim.

In their discussions, the leaders explored pathways to enhance the existing bilateral ties between South Sudan and Saudi Arabia, while also addressing significant regional issues that impact both nations.

During a media briefing following their discussions, Waleed bin Abdulkarim, emphasized the delegation’s commitment to fostering a stronger relationship between Juba and Riyadh.

The two sides engaged in a thorough exchange of perspectives on various potential avenues for collaboration, ranging from economic partnerships to cultural exchanges.

South Sudan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Monday Semaya Kumba, highlighted that the talks extended beyond merely deepening bilateral ties.

A portion of the conversation focused on the ongoing peace process in Sudan, reflecting both nations’ shared interest in ensuring regional stability and addressing the challenges posed by ongoing conflicts.
