In a significant diplomatic engagement, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, Governor of Central Equatoria State, held discussions on Wednesday with His Majesty Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, King of the Azande Kingdom at the State Secretariat in Juba.

The talks centered on forging robust partnerships in trade, agriculture, and cooperation to strengthen ties between Central Equatoria State, the Azande Kingdom and Western Equatoria State.

Governor Jadalla emphasized the pivotal role of traditional leadership in governance, particularly in upholding justice, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering peace and unity. He reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Azande Kingdom and its initiatives.

King Peni congratulated Governor Jadalla for earning the trust of Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan.

He lauded the Governor’s charismatic leadership and unwavering contributions during the liberation struggle between the Sudan People’s Liberation Army or SPLA and the Sudanese government – a conflict that culminated in the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Addressing the press after the meeting, Prince Mboribamu Renzi Tombura, the Paramount Chief of Tombura County, lauded Governor Jadalla for his warm reception and commitment to collaboration.

He described the meeting as highly productive.

“The King’s primary mission is peace. Additionally, he sought to engage the Governor on matters concerning the Azande community in Juba and explore avenues for mutual cooperation,” said Prince Tombura.

The meeting marks a crucial step toward deepening ties and fostering cooperation, setting the stage for future joint initiatives between the State government and the Azande Kingdom.
