Fifteen suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent looting, burning, and killings in.
Acting governor of Western Equatoria, H.E. Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa has directed expedite investigation and justice for15 recently arrested.
Speaking to the media on Monday, governor Badagbu assured the public of safety, as suspected criminals had been captured and were now in the custody.
“There is no room for criminals in this state,” Badagbu declared. He urged all security agencies to continue apprehending any remaining criminal who threatens the peace and safety of the people.
The arrested suspects include individuals with military backgrounds and civilians.
Governor Badagbu stated that those with military affiliations would face trial in a court martial, while civilian suspects would appear before the civilian court.
Western Equatoria State Police Commissioner, Maj. Gen. Samuel Teth confirmed that the 15 suspects had led to a period of relative calm in Yambio town.
The suspects are believed to have been behind the recent unrest in the state.
Yambio County Commissioner, Mbiko Barakati also urged the community to collaborate with security forces to bring an end to the current security challenges in Yambio County.
