Türkiye Ambassador meets Bank Governor

On Monday, April 14, 2025, Metin Ergin, the Türkiye Ambassador to South Sudan, met with the top leaders of the Bank of South Sudan in a courtesy call.

Johnny Ohisa, the Governor, along with his 1st Deputy Governor, Dr. Addis Ababa, discussed bilateral relations concerning the financial and banking sectors with Ambassador Ergin.

Governor Ohisa emphasized the importance of South Sudan’s relationship with Türkiye in the banking sector.
“We discussed a wide range of areas, specifically our desire to improve bilateral relations in the financial sector and banking system,” he stated.

He further added, “We would like to benefit from Türkiye’s experience in the banking system.”

In response, Ambassador Ergin highlighted the significance of economic relations between the two countries and assured that his government would continue to provide support, including in areas of capacity building.

Since South Sudan gained its independence, the economic and commercial relations between Türkiye and South Sudan have considerable potential for growth.
