NCA boss takes up office, vows to advance sector

A newly appointed Director General of National Communication Authority (NCA), Gieth Kon Mathiang vowed, while taking office, to support ongoing projects initiated by his predecessor.

Speaking during his reception at National Communication Authority (NCA) headquarters in Juba, on Tuesday, Kon pledged to use his experience in ensuring that the institution progresses to meet its mandate.

The Director General (DG) added that the experience he gained would allow him to implement the vision of the institution.

“I’ve been serving on the NCA Board of Directors (BOD), which has given me familiarity and an overview of the regulatory body and the ICT sector as a whole” he said

“I am optimistic that with this, I will be able to implement the vision of the NCA, building upon the contributions of my predecessor. With the support of the dedicated team at the NCA, we shall overcome any potential challenges,” Mathiang added.

The DG applauded President Salva Kiir for the opportunity accorded to him in order to contribute to the progress of the institution.

The National Communication Authority (NCA) is responsible for regulating and managing the licensing of all telecommunication, ICT, and broadcasting services in South Sudan.

NCA remain government agency mandated to regulate the Telecommunication and ICT sector of the Republic of South Sudan.

Kon vowed appreciated the previous DG for the tremendous Jobs and urged to continue to support him in the course of improving the sector.

He called on the team at the institution to hold cooperation adding that progress is determine by unity and team work.

On his part Micheal Makuei Lueth, the Minister of Information, Communication Telecommunication and Postal Services urged the newly appointed DG to cooperate and team up in achieving the National Communication Authority’s objectives

He called reiterated on the need for staff to cooperate with the DG adding that his success depends on the qualified and united work force in the institution.

As the public placed eyes on the New Director General for National Communication Authority (NCA) the previous DG Napoleon Adok has some achievement that pave way for progress.
