VP Nyandeng, Kiir discuss national dev’t, regional cooperation

President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Vice President Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior, on Monday discussed on national development and in regional cooperation.

In the meeting, Vice President and chair of gender and youth cluster, Nyandeng briefed President Kiir, on the current political and socio-economic situation within the country.

A key point of discussion was her recent official visit to Uganda, where she held talks with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in Kampala.

During her Uganda visit, Vice President Nyandeng and President Museveni deliberated on strengthening bilateral relations, addressing matters of mutual interest, and exploring avenues for promoting regional peace.

President Kiir and Vice President Nyandeng, reaffirmed their shared commitment to working collaboratively to steer South Sudan towards a path of peace, unity, and progressive development.

They emphasized the importance of fostering internal cooperation among leaders and citizens alike, highlighting its crucial role in consolidating national peace and bolstering South Sudan’s regional diplomatic relations.

The meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance both domestic stability and international partnerships, as South Sudan navigates its path towards sustained development.
