Yei police to auction over 10 motorcycles

By James Innocent

Traffic Police in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State declared auctioning of over ten motorcycles abandoned without number plates.

The owners of these motorcycles have failed to come forward, and many are nowhere to be found.

Traffic police officials reported that most of the motorcycles appear to have been stolen from other states, making it difficult to return them to their rightful owners. Additionally, some motorcycles were involved in accidents, and the owners have not reclaimed them.

Director of traffic police in Yei River County, Ruben Manyok, stated that they will auction over ten motorcycles that have been in custody since 2019 without number plates and others that were involved in accidents.

“Some have been here for ten years, while others have been here for just a few months,” Manyok said. “We plan to auction them off before the end of June.”

He also urged all motorists to drive carefully and avoid speeding, especially as many school children cross the roads.
