CES officials pledge support to new governor

Top officials and leaders in Central Equatoria State (CES) are promising their full support to the new Governor, Gen. Rabi Emmanuel Mujung.

President Salva Kiir appointed General Mujung to the role, on Monday, replacing Gen. Augustino Jadalla Wani, who had been governor since May 2024.

Before this, Mujung served as the Assistant Chief of Defense Forces.

In a statement, SPLM party leadership in Central Equatoria congratulated Governor Mujung promising their full support to the new leader.

“We, the state SPLM leadership reaffirm our full support to you in your endeavors to build a united and prosperous Central Equatorial State,” the statement noted.

In a separate statement, Juba County Youth Union also pledged their support. They said they would work with the new governor and back his plans.

They thanked President Kiir for choosing a leader they believe will bring good changes to the state and the country.

“We look forward to working with Governor Mujung to build a better future for our youth and country,” their statement read.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Commissioner of Kajo-Keji also committed to supporting Governor Mujung.

In a congratulatory message, Kajo-Keji pledge to work closely with his team to boost peace and improve life for people.

“We look forward to working closely with your administration in fostering peace, improving service delivery, and advancing the aspirations of our citizens,” the message said.

Many people also praised the former governor, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Wani, for his hard work, saying his achievements will be remembered.

Supporters believe Governor Mujung’s strong leadership will bring prosperity and great success to both the state and the nation.
