SSOA mourns late Lopole

South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) mourn their fellow esteemed colleague and leader, Lt. Gen. Amee Ngare Lopole.

The late Amee Ngare Lopole was a former General Chief of Staff of South Sudan opposition alliance and assistant director for the inmate affairs in the South Sudan National Prison Services (SSNPS). Lopole was also one of the seven members of the Joint Defense Board (JDB).

In a condolence letter released on 03/July, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, Chairperson of SSOA, who is also the National Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, described Lopole as a committed and passionate statesman who contributed to fostering peace, reconciliation, and justice in the country.

Mr. Akol specified that Lopole contributed to the peace process in South Sudan, and therefore his hard work and integrity will always be remembered.

“His contributions to the peace process and his tireless work with the SSNPS will be remembered with deep respect.” Akol noted.

The SSOA party sends their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time of our loss.” The letter stated.

In a separate statement, Stephen Lual Ngor, spokesperson of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), expressed that the death of Lt. Gen. Amme Nare Lopole remains the saddest news in struggle.

“On behalf of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) and myself, it is with profound despair that we mourn the passing of Lt. Gen. Amme Nare Lopole,” Lual said.

“A distinguished leader, a courageous soldier, and a man of unwavering integrity, his legacy will permanently remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him, the SSOA fraternity, and the nation he served with dedication,” he added.
