SACKED: Gen. Paul Nang Majok exits

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has dismissed Paul Nang Majok, the Chief of Defense Force (CDF) of South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF).

Kiir as the president and the commander in chief of the SSPDF utilized the constitutional powers.

The decrees read out on the state-owned broadcaster, the SSBC showed exit to the SSPDF chief who has served for eight months.

Kiir appointed Gen. Dau Aturjong Nyuol as the Chief of Defense Forces, replacing Paul Nang Majok.

“I, Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan and the Commander-in-Chief of the SSPDF, do hereby appoint Gen. Dau Aturjong Nyuol as the Chief of Defense Forces for the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF),” the presidential decree partly read.

The President also promoted Aturjong from the rank of major general to full general in the SSPDF.

Gen. Paul Nang Majok was appointed in December 2024 as Chief of Defense Forces, replacing Gen. Santino Deng Wol.

President Salva Kiir, in a separate decree, dismissed the Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Peter Guzulu Maze.

In replacement, Gola Boyoi Gola was reappointed as the new Chief Administrator.
