Ambassador praises South Sudan-Ethiopia Relations

Outgoing Ethiopian Ambassador to Juba, Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi, has praised South Sudan for cordial relationship.

The former envoy made the remarks while meeting President Salva Kiir on Monday at the State House in Juba.

As his tenure comes to an end after years of diplomatic missions, Abdullahi noted that his working relationship with the government of South Sudan was mutual, thus strengthening the bilateral ties between Juba and Addis Ababa.

He described the relation between Addis Ababa and Juba as “historic, stronger, and symbolic,” as his departure coincides with South Sudan’s 14th Independence Anniversary.

The former Ethiopian Envoy further congratulated the people of South Sudan on their 14th Independence Anniversary.

He reiterated Ethiopia’s unwavering support for the country’s journey towards peace, stability, and development.

Speaking during the meeting, South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit formally bid farewell to Ambassador Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi.

According to office of the President, Kiir praised Amb. Nebil for his dedicated efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation between South Sudan and Ethiopia.

He further acknowledged the ambassador’s contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between the two sisterly nations.
