Minister Napwon, governor Rabi discuss environmental protection initiatives

National Minister of Environment and Forestry, Josephine Napwon Cosmas expressed her commitment to intergovernmental cooperation.

The Minister, on Friday held a meeting with Central Equatoria State governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, where the two leaders articulated environmental issues.

Napwon, in constructive discussions with the governor, focused on key environmental priorities affecting the state.

According to office of the governor, the discussions between the leaders centered on environmental protection, climate resilience and sustainable management of natural resources.

Minister Napwon emphasized the urgent need to strengthen coordination between the national and state level governments to address these challenges effectively.

“The Ministry is committed to working closely with state authorities to develop and implement policies that safeguard the environment and contribute to long-term development,” she stated.

Meanwhile, governor Rabi pledged his administration’s readiness to partner with the Ministry in promoting ecological preservation and building climate resilience.

The engagement highlighted a strong step toward aligning national and state efforts in addressing environmental concerns in one of South Sudan’s most ecologically and economically important regions.
