CES Governor Calls for Unity Among Mundari Community

‎Central Equatoria State Governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, has on Monday emphasized the need for unity among the Mundari community.

According to a statement from governor’s office, the call came during a meeting held at the State Secretariat in Juba.

‎In the statement, Governor Mujung highlighted the critical importance of unity among the people of Terekeka County and across Central Equatoria State.

The statement further noted that the call aligns with directives from President Salva Kiir Mayardit, aimed at enhancing peace, stability, and collaboration across the State.

According to the statement, Governor reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with leaders from Terekeka County to address local needs and strengthen community cohesion.

It also stated that Mujung called for collective efforts in confronting the challenges facing the State.

In the statement, a delegation was led by Acting Chairperson of the Mundari Community Hon. Wani Buyu and the Commissioner of Terekeka County Emmanuel Loku Ladu accompanied by members of parliament, chiefs, women, youth and other community leaders.

‎Statement noted Loku pointed out key issues raised during the meeting including the urgent need to construct water reservoirs to mitigate seasonal cattle migration caused by water scarcity, emphasizing the need to improve education and healthcare services in the County.

‎“We are planning a conference to engage our cattle keepers in Kudda, and I strongly encourage their participation. The Governor has also pledged to collaborate with development partners to establish water reservoirs, which will help reduce cross-county migration,” Loku stated.

‎Meanwhile, Wani Buyu, the Acting Chairman of the Mundari Community underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence, particularly along the borders shared with Jonglei and Lakes States.

He reiterated the community’s unwavering support to the Governor and the State leadership.

‎“We are encouraging our people to engage in farming activities, and we have appealed to the Governor to assist us with agricultural tools. This is essential for achieving food security and sustainable development,” Buyu said.

‎It highlighted that the delegation also delivered a congratulatory message to Governor Mujung and outlined key challenges affecting their community.

The statement noted that Governor appreciated the visit and assured the delegation that their concerns will be address.
