 Pibor Chief Administrator appoints cabinet

The Chief Administrator of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Gola Boyoi Gola, has formed his government, replacing ministers and advisors dismissed on Monday.

Gola announced the changes in a decree issued on Wednesday evening, marking his political comeback as chief administrator after previously serving in the position for only a few months before his removal last October.

In a decree broadcast on the locally run Pibor 90.3 FM on Wednesday night, Gola appointed Ogebe Ochan as his deputy, succeeding John Joseph Abulla.

The newly restructured cabinet is as follows:

Advisors Appointed:

  1. Hon. Baba Panum Monthak—Advisor for Security
  2. Hon. Beko Konyi Longolyo – Advisor for Political Affairs
  3. Hon. Guzule Yar Korok—Advisor for Economic Affairs
  4. Hon. Alfred Omot Agada – Advisor for Peace & Reconciliation
  5. Hon. Nura Stephen Lokine – Advisor for Gender

 Cabinet Ministers Appointed:

  1. Hon. Nyakiyako Yousef – Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement
  2. Hon. Jacob Werchum Juok – Minister of Information and Communication
  3. Hon. Hassen Ismail Konyi – Minister of Finance and Economic Planning
  4. Hon. Jay Adingora Alual – Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Animal Resources
  5. Hon. Gabriel Amakori Thanko – Minister of Physical Infrastructure
  6. Hon. Baba Issac Nyathi—Minister of Mining, Wildlife Conservation, and Tourism
  7. Hon. Butrous Ochalla Wello – Minister of General Education and Instruction
  8. Hon. James Chacha Konyi – Minister of Health and Environment
  9. Hon. James Omot Okach—Minister of Labor, Public Service, and Human Resource

  2. Mr. Jiji Nyathu Lopole – Deputy Commissioner General
  3. Mr. John Agut Kiki – Executive Director

Directors:

  1. Mr. James Konyi—Director for Administration and Finance in the Ministry of Finance (Relieved)
  2. Mr. Joseph Keziwo Meroni—Director for Administration and Finance in the Ministry of Finance (Appointed)

Speaking to No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, John Hakim Tenychar, the head of Protocol in Gola’s office, confirmed the appointments of the new officials.

Arrangements are underway for the swearing-in of these appointed officials next Monday. “I believe the chief administrator wants more time to have his entire government formed,” he stated.
