Pray without ceasing. In everything, give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1thessalonians 5:17-18.
In this kingdom where Jesus Christ redeemed us to enjoy life in its abundance, it is a place of of victory, triumph, peace that surpasses all understanding, joy unspeakable, wealth, prosperity, divine health, and dominion. However, all these privileges can’t be fully enjoyed unless we enforce the principle of prayer.
Many religions in the world pray no matter what situation they are in. The Muslims are said to pray five times a day, and others also pray several times. But a question we ask ourselves is: why pray if God is in his sovereignty? Why pray, yet God is in his majesty? He can decide whether to answer or not; why stress yourself to pray always? Many are frustrated that their prayers have not been answered for years. These questions lurk deep in the hearts of every person who considers prayer a necessity for living a glorious life on earth.
In our above opening scripture, we are told to pray without ceasing; it’s a commandment from God, who is all-knowing; he is omnipotent and omniscient. God expects us to pray always, though, in his very sovereignty. Why? Because God honors his word always. The birth of prayer is in the book of Genesis 1:26.
And God, let us make in our image after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
This above is the place of the birthing of prayer. When God created things and made man have dominion over the affairs of the earth and one thing with God, whatever he says becomes a law, as the Bible tells in Psalms chapter 138:2.
I will worship toward thy holy temple and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and thy truth, for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Praise be to God, the creator of heaven and earth; he has magnified his word above his; whatever God says, it’s forever settled; that’s why the Bible says he is not a man who should lie. He is personified, and there is no place for lies in him; you trust him forever.
Many believers still think that God controls everything in this world; that’s a lie from the devil, and he uses this deception to hold many captives. The Bible tells us something extra ordinary in the book of Psalms 8:4-6 and again in the book of Psalms 115:16.
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visit him? For thou has made him a little lower than the angels and has a crown, you have made him with glory and honor. Thou made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou has put all things under his feet. Psalms 8:4-6
The heavens, even the heavens, are the lords, but the earth has he given to the children of men. Psalms 115:16
When you read this scripture with all your attention, you will find out that man is the most privileged creature among all creatures on earth. That’s why David wondered: What is man that you are mindful of him and what is the son of man that you visit him? As you read, you realize man is 100 percent privileged above all creatures. Why he was created was because, from the same image with him, he came from God the Father. The Bible tells us that man breathed life into his nostrils, and man became a living soul. So, man received his life from God; he was made to have dominion over all things. He was crowned with God’s glory and honor and placed everything under his feet; however, all these privileges were usurped by Satan, who deceived man into disobeying God, and from then on, man became subject to Satan’s reign over the affairs of the world.
Man lost dominion when he disobeyed God, his original source, and all the glory and honor were no more until Jesus came now to buy us back from the enemy to live in fellowship once again with God.
Satan is the one who is the God of this world; don’t be deceived; he controls the universe. No, that’s not true; he will control the affairs where you invite him to the place of prayer.
God has given earth to the children of men; he expects us men to dominate the world with his divine principles in his word. And you have seen the children of the devil doing their best to destroy the earthly principles of living in harmony in the world; the system they operate with is that of the devil, the author of all evil. You have seen all kinds of evil done by many, and there is no remorse in them completely. It’s a sad reality that can only be averted by the righteous, who stand in the gap, praying without ceasing.
God will do nothing over the poverty, destruction, pain, killing, and all kinds of evil happening in the world unless we invite him in to stop them. That’s why prayer is the most powerful force on earth, and we are to devote and commit ourselves to practicing it with all adherence in picture in order to make lasting changes in this generation and leave a mark worth following.
The place to start having effective prayers is when you are righteous before God. It’s only the prayers of a righteous man that avail much; that is why any other religions in the world practice it and don’t see results. It only works for the redeemed in Christ Jesus.
Do you have any situation bothering you? The Bible tells us in the book of Mark 11:23 that
For very I say unto that whosever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Many situations would be no more if you just believed in the place of prayer. It’s high time you practice biblical prayer and change the circumstances of your life. God is faithful; any prayer that he has not answered is either because it is not in accordance with his will or because you had no faith because he magnifies his words always.
Prophetic Confession
Dear God, thank you for the privilege of prayer. It’s a force that brings and executes the will of God on earth. I believe and trust in your sovereignty and faithfulness to your word, which you have magnified above your name. Today, as I practice these principles of prayer, I will see results manifesting in my life; every negative situation in my life shall change for your glory in Jesus name. Amen!
Prayer of salvation
Say, Lord Jesus, thank you for paying a price for my salvation; today I acknowledge you as the Lord of my life. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Am born again in Jesus mighty name, Amen!
