The attack took place in Baidit payam, Bor County, as three fishermen were returning from a fishing trip along the Nile.

The Jonglei state police commissioner, Maj. Gen. John Baak, confirmed the injuries and stated that police had been deployed to the area to patrol and trace the suspects’ footprints.
He added that the two injured individuals had been transferred to Juba for further treatment.
For his part, Oleyo Akuer, the minister of information for Greater Pibor Administrative Area said he was not aware of the incident in Baidit,
“I will check with the authorities in the counties that are neighboring Bor County to confirm if there were people from there who might have gone to attack people in Bor County,” Akuer said.
In a separate development, the commissioner of Bor County, James Gai Makhor, addressed an allegation of cattle raiding in Chuei-Keer Boma of Kolnyang payam.
Makhor clarified that the individuals seen in the area on Sunday were local residents moving their cattle and not involved in any raiding activity.
