May the joy in this period bring us everlasting peace

Eid al Fitr. A day to celebrate the end of the Holy month of fasting to the Muslims, the month of Ramadan is a day of joy and festivities in town.

The festival of Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of Fast-breaking, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.  The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.

With the festivities of Eid filling the town and covering the whole country, may we remember to share the joy, celebration, laughter and food with everyone around us not just our families.

Special moments like these bring connections and eventually they bring peace in our country. May the light hearted people who are smiling in this festive period still be the same even after the celebrations have ended.

Let this message of peace from the President encourage us to remain peaceful in and out of this season. It reads below;

“As you open your families’ doors to your friends and neighbors during this Eid al Fitr festivities, let the joy and happiness from this celebration amplify the message and peace and forgiveness within our communities. May we all be guided by the spirit of community unity on this day, to those partaking of this momentous occasion, I once again wish you a very joyous Eid el Mubarak,”
