WES: 1,600 unified forces expected to graduate in Maridi today

The government of Western Equatoria State on Thursday formed a committee to take charge of the preparation for the graduation of unified forces in Maridi military training center in Western Equatoria State schedule to take place today Saturday.

State Governor Lt. Gen Alfred Futuyo in order issued on Thursday formulated a seven-member committee who have been tasked to prepare the budget for the graduation of Unified forces in Maridi.

“This order shall be cited as State order No.12/2022 for the formation of the committee for the preparation of budget for the graduation of unified forces, scheduled for Saturday the 17th September 2022 in Maridi and shall come into force up on the date of its signature by the State Governor” the gubernatorial order partly read.

The order mandated the committee to prepare budget for graduation of the unified forces and summit to Governor.

Maj. Hennry Bangada one of the soldier in Maridi military training center expressed his gratitude for the move taken by the government saying he is ready for the graduation adding he had acquired the skills in the training.

“I am ready with all the forces in the training side just waiting for the graduation next tomorrow, but I wanted to give appreciation to the President of the Republic of South Sudan and his deputies for the step taken for the graduation of the first bath of the unified forces, this has shown the commitment to the peace implementation” Bangada Said.

There are 1,600 soldiers who are expected to graduate on Saturday in Maridi Military training side in Western Equatoria State.

Late last month, the government graduated over 27,000 unified forces in Juba in the first phase graduation of the first batch of the unified forces.
