I’m bleeding, screams the Revitalised Peace Agreement

By Malek Arol Dhieu

I’m bleeding profusely. Can somebody please help me, I need medical attention? When President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr. Riek Machar Teny inked me in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I thought I would grow healthier and fatter, little did I know there were holdout groups who would disturb my embracement by South Sudanese.

When 5 Vice Presidents and other bizarre conditions were accepted, I overlook all the agreements of the whole world, including those of World War I and II combined, holding up my head 2 metres above my neck in pride that I’m unique worldwide.

While getting implemented, so many people within and outside tried to spoil me, but President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr. Riek Machar keep on repeating one very best statement “I vow not to take South Sudanese back to war”. I love this particular statement more than myself! My well-being then became a responsibility of every citizen and my true colours began to unfold.

While starring at the signatories for their commitments to implement me fully, the heartless National Salvation Army of Gen. Thomas Chirilo stabbed me at the back and when I furiously turned to fight it, Rome begged me to sign an agreement with it plus two other holdout groups viz Real SPLM of Gen. Pagan Amum and South Sudan United Front of Gen. Paul Malong Awan.

Cessation of hostilities was signed but NAS soldiers never adhered to it, they burn down cars and kill passengers in all states of Equatoria. My cousin agreement called Rome Declaration talks should get signed fully to rescue me.

Before my stab wound healed, Gen. Johnson Olony and Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual shot me on both legs, fracturing my femoral bones obliquely. But shortly before my condition worsened, Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime took me to Khartoum for orthopaedic surgery and I was successfully treated in Khartoum Peace Deal hospital built by SPLM and Agwelek and Magenis forces under Olony and Gatwech though I was confused why SPLM and not SPLM-IO to sign that deal. Anyway, that’s a bygone!

Back to South Sudan, I was recovering day by day but the fractures were still not in strong unity. When unified forces were thoroughly screened and other preparations done undoubtedly, Salva Kiir Mayardit told me to try walking with crutches to assess my level of recovery and I made it.

When I slipped off, I found my shoulder being held sympathetically and when I turned to see that Good Samaritan, he smiled at me with gap teeth and I said ‘thank you FVP Dr. Riek Machar Teny”. I was recovering rapidly, but still in Orthopaedic Ward at Juba Teaching Hospital.

My doctor finally announced that I would be discharged on 22nd July 2022 and I was happy to resume my normal life at J1. Before 22nd July clocked, Gen. Stephen Buoy Rolnyang hit my neck so hard that I never expected to have a second chance of life. In fact, I don’t know whether I’m now talking in heaven or hell!

Why would army Generals all unite against me? Did the Civil Wars become part of them that they miss war like they miss their loved ones? Did rebellion become an entry route to the government that every South Sudanese needs to rebel? Do rebels know that they kill the same people they claim to lead well when they succeed?

Why does it look like someone within doesn’t like me to be fully implemented? Has war become a lucrative business?  How tasty is war by the way? However much other assassins try to kill me, they can’t succeed. I can only be killed by Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr Riek Machar Teny. Therefore, I urge the presidency to address the situation and take me for treatment.
