Is the Governor of Lakes State Rin Tueny Mabor on the correct path?

By Joseph Ring Lang

After the mandate given to him in Juba by hundreds of Lakes citizens on 20th June 2021 to give maximum punishments to all the law breakers, reports coming now indicate lakes State is now the most peaceful State in South Sudan.

He had gone extra mile by requesting from the Chief Justice, judges to complete the administration of good justice – those judges have already gone and are now working.

What he had achieved could be replicated in other tumultuous areas or States of South Sudan.

The missing link which should now be introduced for the first time in South Sudan is the start of putting into the Government Gazette, all trial cases in Lake State after their completion. The rest of South Sudan will eventually follow the example of the Lakes State.

It will go into history that it was Lakes State Governor Rin Tueny Mabor that led South Sudan into the system of good justice of fair trial cases which could be verified through Government Gazette.

It will also add to his credit scores – a feat that no Governor of South Sudan had achieved before him.

The relevant question raised in that regard – Is the Government of South Sudan capable of producing Governors like Rin Tueny Mabor? Yes, it is possible – but?

In order to bring into surface Governors like Rin Tueny Mabor, it needs Cabinet deliberations through scrutiny of all the track records that can be verified: for all those competing for those posts; before their selections to the Governorship posts. Failing to do so: I am afraid; Rin Tueny Mabor may turned out to be the first and the last Governor that goes into records of having turned a chaotic State to be the most peaceful State in South Sudan.
