Today marks the third year after the birth of No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, the print media house operated by young competent staff with the vision to be providers of information that fosters growth and development in all aspects.

No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper is a South Sudanese Print Media Company that was founded on the 3rd of September 2019 as an online newspaper. It is registered with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, with a mission to become a platform that addresses people’s needs by offering solutions, providing a safe working environment for female journalists as they are always faced with harassment at work and also giving opportunities to student journalists who want to further their knowledge through internships.

As we celebrate the third anniversary of the company, we acknowledge the services rendered by both our esteemed readers and clients.

No.1 Citizen offers quality and credible information, and we majorly report on human rights, health, education, business and human-interest stories. We focus on facts, and clarity-balanced stories to improve quality information for our readers. we, therefore, focus on local and firsthand information.

No.1 Citizen as your most reliable news provider started as online in 2019 with five reporters and one editor and then started printing its publication on the 14th of July 2020 during the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now it’s the most widely read newspaper that covers the whole of South Sudan and up to Uganda with reporters across the country providing quality and credible news stories including investigative and feature stories.

The Media house since its commencement is standing alone but with generous support from our subscribers, advertisers whom we appreciate and hope to keep and have more as we continue to grow. From having only seven employees, the newspaper now is an employer of more than 27 professional national staff who are running the daily operation of the paper. The country should be happy that they are enjoying the raw work of their children. My heartfelt congratulations go to No. 1 Citizen team for making sure that readers have a newspaper each and every single day through these difficulties and forgetting those who were with us and left for other responsibilities. Thank you and congratulations to you all and continue reading the best newspaper ever in the country.

No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper growing steadily in the next 5 years it will be the most-read newspaper in the whole of the East African Community and looking to cover the whole continent and later the whole world to reflect our motto “Voice of Africa and beyond” God bless No.1Citizen Daily Newspaper.

God Bless South Sudan.
