Don’t die before your time

Abraham Anyon Ngoor Gorjok

Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why should thou die before thy time? Ecclesiates7:17

There is a tragedy waiting for every human being on earth today, and I mean all the 7.2 billion people; some have already become victims of it, and all of us, whether we like it or not, will find it one day; it’s called death. Every person will die one day; just settle it. Whether you are five, twenty, seventy years old, or twenty, you will die.

Man is the only creature who knows he is going to die, and he always ignores it when discussed. Many people have changed their diet to avoid death. Many people you see today running on the streets every morning are trying to lose weight; most of them are motivated by the fear of death, and those who fear death die quickly.

Death is the only equalizer of all mankind. Whether you are a president of a nation, a minister, a governor, a commissioner, or holding any position of influence, death will equalize you with the poor sleeping under the bridge or a farmer deep in the village who has nothing to do with being in government.

All the dictators that are terrorizing the world today, the rebels, and those that embezzle government funds today, causing dire suffering for all citizens, especially in Africa, will not escape death; it will equalize us all; therefore, don’t be intimidated by the luxury they live in; the one living in a poor condition and the one living in abundance will both die one day.

However, we must consider how we shall die, when we shall die, and where we shall go when we die, for it is appointed unto man once to die, and after that, the judgment. Hebrews 9:27 says that it applies to those that are saved, the wicked people, because every person who is not born again is referred to by God as the wicked people, the children of the serpent himself, the devil who usurped man from his position of dominion, but thanks be unto God who restored the dominion man had lost. In John 10:10, the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come to give your life in its abundance, a life overflowing with joy and happiness.

Jesus, the Son God was sent to avert the works of the enemy of our souls, the devil, but we must embrace this truth that he came to deliver to all of us: a born-again human being is the only privileged human being on earth. He has hope and a determination of where he will go when he leaves the earth realm. He is the only one who says this kind of prayer and is then heard by God. Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of days; your years go on through all generations. Psalms 102:24-26.

The subject of death is so vital and must be understood by every human being on earth, especially the redeemed of the Lord—I mean, those who are already in the kingdom of our dear savior Jesus Christ, the son of the living God. In the book of Romans 5:12–13, it says, therefore, that just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, death came to all people because all have sinned.

So, death was sponsored and still is sponsored by sin; sin is what brought the tragedy of death to the human race; sin activated death. Yes, it was created, but it was activated by sin. Why? Man is a free moral agent and has and still has the will today and even now to choose his destiny every day. So, every choice you make today determines your destiny, and that’s why you must be cautious of what you choose to do because it will affect you and the generations after you. Just like Adam and Eve made us prune to the enemy called death, all of us will die just because the first Adam chose to sin against his own creator, who esteems his word above himself. In Genesis, man was told that if you eat this fruit that I have told you not to eat, you shall surely die. God had to make sure man dies; however, you need to understand that Adam lived long physically before he died physically; that means the death that God meant was beyond just physical death. It was a spiritual experience that occurred first and finally resulted in physical death.

Death generalizes all of us, whether we are righteous or evil. Let us read Isaiah 57:1-2. It says the righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity. He enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness, but thanks be unto God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus. Jesus won the victory over death; when he died on the cross, buried and resurrected from death, he removed the gloom out of death and the sting of death; therefore, we must not be intimated by the fear of death anymore. In John 3:16 it says For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Death is defeated on the cross of carvery and shall be destroyed at the second coming of our Lord Jesus. That is why all of us, the redeemed, the regenerated ones, will taste the physical death with the wicked, those who don’t believe, but when we die as believers, we shall live in heaven gloriously with the king of kings and lord of lords.

Another cause of premature death is the tongue. In Proverbs 18:21,  death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

We shall experience death either in our spirits, bodies, finances, or in every affair of our lives, no by how negatively we utter every word, either consciously or unconsciously. Your destiny will be determined by what you say. That’s why man will be judged by every word he says. Going to heaven will be determined by what you confess here on earth. In Romans 10:9–10, it says that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Therefore, as a believer, you are responsible for sponsoring premature death. You can determine how long you will stay on earth. Man was given 120 days to live on earth, though you can exceed that by how you live according to the principles of God consistently, because when you obey the word of God diligently, it saves you from early death.

Fulfilling your days on earth is up to us; refuse to sin, use your mouth appropriately, and live a glorious life prepared for you by God, the creator of heaven and earth.

Prophetic confessions

Lord, thanks for averting the sting and gloom of death. I thank you again for overcoming the power of death, my lord, king of glory. Today I chose to do your word, refuse sin, and also use my mouth appropriately in order to enjoy life in its abundance. I will not die young. I will fulfill my days on earth in Jesus mighty name, Amen!

 Prayer of salvation.

Say, Lord Jesus, thank you for paying a price for my salvation; today I acknowledge you as the Lord of my life. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Am born again in Jesus mighty name, Amen!

If you have this prayer, we believe that you are saved. Find a Bible-believing church and grow in him more and more in his glory.
