Be aware of false prophets, (part 2)

Abraham Anyon Ngoor Gorjok

For there shall arise false Christians and false prophets, and they shall show great signs and wonders in so much that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect (Matthew 24:24).

In these last days, we have to be so watchful and adequately alert over our souls because the devil is doing his best to deceive man, since it’s the only power left to him, for the distraction of man from His divine purpose and will for his life.

Yesterday, we started talking about this powerful and eye-opening topic of being aware of false prophets in these last days. Life is so precious, and the souls of men are in a great dilemma in that their souls are desired by both God and the devil.

They are caught in a war that has nothing to do with them. Remember in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve sinned against God? It was all about the desire of the devil to establish his kingdom on earth, but man became a victim. The devil became envious of the power of dominance given to man. In Genesis 1:26, it says, let us make man in our own image and after our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, over all the air, over all the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

This was a declaration made by God, and his words stood true because he said he magnifies his word above himself, and when man later sinned against God by obeying the devil instead of his creator, he became subject to Satan; the devil now started ruling over him, but thanks be unto God, who sent his only begotten born of virgin Mary, who came to now restore that dominion power entrusted to mankind and lost it by the deception of the devil. However, man is still free since he is a free moral agent and has the choice to choose his destiny. As much as Jesus has come to give us life in its abundance, if we don’t yield our will to God, the devil will keep reigning in our positions of honor.

The false prophets are sent agents of Satan, whose will is to pervert the will of God for his people. Even the elect of God will be deceived by the devil. In our above passage of Matthew 24:24, it says that there shall arise false Christians and false prophets. Jesus, in this passage, warned us to be so vigilant so that the prophets don’t find a chance to deceive us like Satan did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In these words, he is affirming that we should not give place to the devil. These false prophets and false Christians shall be able to do mighty miracles; they will be able to open the blind eyes; and the lame shall walk. They act out mighty miracles and deceive people with the wrong doctrine that’s not after Christ. Any doctrine that is not after Christ is from false prophets and false Christ.

We had a man of God in South Sudan here who God privileged to do mighty songs and wonders; he later denied Jesus calling him all sorts of names and declared himself as the god to be worshipped in the church he led, but he forgot that the Bible says the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church; right now, he has no place of worship. The very church members he was privileged to lead pushed him out of the church, saying that we can’t be led by a person who says he is not a Christian, and they installed the assistant pastor as their head. So he was removed from his place of honor to a place of disgrace just because of pride and secret sins like immorality, like Nebuchadnezzar, who was sent away from the palace to the bush due to pride, which really affirms the truth in the book of proverbs that says before a fall is pride. This teaches us that declaring independence against your creator is fatal, and it is the mother of disgrace and lowliness.

In the nation of Kenya as well, there is a person who is a son of the devil and has declared himself as Jesus Christ. You see, all prophecies of Jesus are coming to pass one by one, and that is why I am rebelliously angry at people who say the Bible is not real and it was meant for colonization. People who say these things don’t know the things they talk about.

Just because some came with a message and perverted it doesn’t mean the message is wrong. These prophecies affirm that the Bible is true, where God has written his thoughts for the well-being of mankind. Yes, I agree that the devil used the colonizers to deceive Africans into dominating Africans, but it doesn’t destroy the truth of God’s word in the Bible. Just because the messenger was wrong doesn’t destroy the credibility of the message. When someone sends me to you personally with a message to give you, it’s up to me to tell you exactly what I was told or exaggerate it for my selfish gain, but thanks be unto who always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus. The Bible is in every format now; education has come to almost every one of us. The illiterates can depend on translated versions to study the word of God, so there is no excuse. Read the word of God and apply it to your life to avoid being deceived by false prophets and false Christs.

False prophets are known for their deceptive spirit; they are not different from their father, the devil, who is the father of all lies and liars.

False prophets are also known for dividing the flocks of God by leading them astray by using the doctrines of demons.

In the book of Romans 16:17, God told us through the Apostle Paul that, now I beseech you, brethren, to mark them that cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine that you have learned and avoid them.

The goal of false prophets is to divide the flock of God by teaching them a doctrine that’s different or contrary from that of Christ Jesus, the son of the living God, who came and died for you and me.

Another sign for false prophets is that they don’t emphasize the need for repentance. Let’s read the book of Lamentations 2:14 that says, thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee, and they have not discovered thine iniquity to turn away thy captivity, but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.”

They don’t like to encourage people to repent or even tell them that there is a need for repentance for the sins they have committed. A true prophet of God must encourage repentance among the people of God; otherwise, there will be no forgiveness of sins.

Therefore, we must be very careful as children of God, as well as those who are not saved. The only antidote to avoiding deception by false prophets is abiding in Christ Jesus, reading his word, and praying as you watch out for all the tricks of the devil from the false prophets.

Prophetic Confessions

Jesus, son of the living God, Lord of Lords, and King of Kings, thank you for being true in my life. You are the truth where I can rest and abide forever. My life is empty without you. Today I walk in wisdom, am sober, and am vigilant against the tricks of the devil through his son’s false prophets, in Jesus name, Amen!

Prayer of salvation

Lord, thank you for dying for me on the cross. Today I accept you as lord of my life, for with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. I am born again in Jesus might name, Amen!

If you have prayed his prayer, we believe you are saved. Now find a Bible-believing church and grow your faith in Him.
