Lutheran World Federation, an NGO funded by Bread for the World, donated 20 tons of school supplies to five Primary Schools in Magwi County on Thursday.
Speaking during the donation Mrs. Annet Keji the education officer for LWF said the scholastic materials were funded by the Bread for the World program to improve learning quality for learners across Magwi County.
According to her, the project targets five schools namely Pajok Primary, Oyere, Paluonganyi, Pogee, and Ganzi Primary of Magwi County
She revealed that the distribution is done termly to ensure learning and teaching with regular learning quality
Additionally, the construction of three classrooms in Oyere Primary School of Obbo Payam is ongoing under the same project
Mrs. Annet explained that a plan is underway to renovate three classroom block with its offices in Pogee and Ganzi primary school
“We have secured some funds and hopefully soon we are going to start the renovation of the plan three classroom blocks and an office for the Pogee and Gazi primary schools hopefully in the middle of next month April” said Annet.
For his part, the Deputy Headteacher Mr. Omwony Aldo Mark applauded LWF for doing several activities in Pajok primary since 2022 up to date
He established that LWF delivered over 200 seedlings, installed of water point, renovated four classroom blocks, and constructed of pit latrine with 2 stanzas, provisioned of stationary in the school, a desk, and constructed of kitchen where learners get their meals
He called on the LWF and other partners to help the school since Pajok Primary is not fenced and teachers lack seats as they used desks for siting
He therefore appreciates the work of LWF in supporting schools for both teachers and pupils and he wishes them continued funding as it boasts and improves education
Meanwhile, the PTA chairperson for Pajok Primary Mr. Thomas Komakech appreciated the activities of LWF in the development of the school
Thomas the donation of the scholastic material to the school has help parent so much since every learner are provided with its from school
LWF has also trained and supported PTA and how PTA should play their role in the management of the school
Several funding from LWF have brought hope to returnee learners as they received free materials for learning
Komakech pointed out that they have rights in school such as pupils and teachers
In the document seen by number one, they donate tons of exercise books, pencils, blue pens, dusters, chalk, rulers, rubber, staple machines, mathematical sets, print papers, staple pins, maker pens, box files, manuscripts books, flip charts, masking tapes, office glues, footballs, volleyballs, manlier papers among others.
