Empowering women in a country is a great change to the community and the society at large just because they are great thinkers.
Women think of great things that change communities, they only want to see peace in any situation, and their focus is on development.
South Sudan needs more empowered young women and ladies for active participation in the nation-building of the country, and it should be in every sector, that is to say, in every government institution, to improve working conditions.
More efforts are needed to promote gender equity and improve the overall health and brain outcomes for women across the country, which are essential, as is addressing challenges such as gender inequity, poverty, and economic hardships in the country. And, having the capacity to fight cases of sexual harassment (sexual gender violence), can create a healthier and more equitable future. South Sudan should try hard to empower young women.
Let’s look closer at women who have the hope of doing something presentable and bringing change in a particular field and positive action to address issues in different sectors that they are the ones to fight the issues related to gender equity in the country. Some national organizations and companies are being run by young women, such as One Citizen Network for Democracy, currently giving back to the communities. Eve organization, Women for Change, and many others are women led organizations such as Women with Hopeful Mind, These, would make a lot of positive change in the country, but this time we are looking at women’s participation in government, where they are given 35% affirmative action.
These are strong people with a strong mind to bringing change to the community and will also build and inspire others through the good work of transforming society. If 60% of women in the country were empowered in different sectors, there would be total peace in the country.
For example, if a woman is decreed into the ministry of finance and planning and Central Bank position, this would curve economic crisis, not to go high because women serve as mothers taking care of their children.
I appeal to the government and international organizations to support young women who are community change-makers in nation-building by empowering them.
God bless South Sudan.
Be right there!
