No. 1 Citizen Newspaper appreciates the efforts of states and the national government for maneuvering to pay bits of salary to civil servants despite the biting economic turmoil.

First, Central Equatoria state kick-started with one months’ pay and then Unity State followed suit. We are waiting to hear from other states.

Though in Unity state, only the Ministry of General Education and Instructions has disbursed pat for teachers and education staff for the month of October, please, consider other civil servants too.

Apart from one month’s salary, the government would also struggle to increase it to four, five, six and or seven, to put smiles on the faces of the civil servants and citizens at large.

As the talk of economic crisis, sounds more than attempts of the citizens to survive, nevertheless, people even eat meat in a funeral, so must civil servants eat, despite hardship.

This one month’s pay will all go to pay debts incurred last year, from the beginning of the hard times, what about now and tomorrow? Also, be considerate to other civil servants whose list has not surfaced among those receiving payment.
