The current security situation in the country is dire, with rampant ambushes occurring on highways and serious threats to public safety.

This crisis demands urgent solutions, as the lives of citizens are at risk and the patience of citizens is wearing thin while they await peace.

A pressing question arises: Why are these ambushes happening? Does this suggest that our soldiers and national security forces are failing in their duty to protect civilians? These concerns are on the minds of many.

As the year draws to a close, civil servants are facing delayed salaries amid economic hardship, which may be contributing to the surge in ambushes along the roads. Despite the presence of customs checkpoints, there seems to be a lack of effective measures to address these security threats.

The struggles faced by citizens are profound, particularly when security forces are unable to maintain order. This situation sends alarming signals to the leadership about the dire conditions affecting both civil servants and the public.

A well-supported and satisfied military is crucial for maintaining stability; when they are content, incidents of insecurity tend to decrease. Conversely, if the army is neglected, they may not respond effectively to threats, as seen in recent events.

The government must prioritize the safety of its citizens and ensure timely payment of salaries to civil servants. Delays in compensation can lead to strikes or resignations, further compromising public safety.

The recent ambush along Yei Road, which involved a journalist, highlights the urgent need for effective security measures.

The government must act decisively to restore safety and stability for all.
