Nation Talks

The month of March holds great significance in the lives of Muslims.

This year, Eid al Fitr began on March 2, 2025, and continued until March 30, symbolizing Muhammad’s prayers while receiving guidance from God (Allah) and his endurance through suffering and temptation during his earthly life.

The 30-day fast is a profound occasion in the Islamic faith, especially in mosques. This month emphasizes forgiveness, repentance, prayer, reconciliation, and sharing with those in need. Additionally, this month teaches us how to improve our actions.

For those committing wrongful acts in our country, it serves as a reminder to stop, while those doing good should increase their efforts.

It’s vital to remember why Muhammad revealed himself in our lives; we must continue to pray for South Sudan, so our leaders can transition from corruption and effectively address the country’s issues, bringing peace.
Let us also pray for those facing hardships, particularly the poor, the blind, and those mourning the loss of loved ones, that they may regain hope and the ability to support their families.

For those who are fortunate, if you have not yet helped the needy, there is still time to extend your support. And, for those who wish to help but lack resources: trust that one day your blessings will come. Currently, it is evident that many families are struggling, dealing with hunger and the trauma of inadequate shelter, which remains challenging to resolve.

For those who have travelled abroad to visit family for the Eid holiday celebrations, take care of yourselves and your loved ones, stay safe, and return safely. Remember to pray for South Sudan.

South Sudan is a cherished home, and those celebrating here should do so responsibly, particularly drinkers who must prioritize their safety. No one will care for your well-being, and recklessness could lead to imprisonment, hospitalization, or worse during celebrations.

The nation values you, especially as youth serve as future leaders; don’t be swayed by harmful activities that could jeopardize your life.

I take this opportunity to extend warm wishes to our leaders, readers of the No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, both online and offline, and all South Sudanese at home and in the diaspora for a joyful Eid celebration.

We hope for the best for our country as peace implementation proceeds with goodwill in the hearts of our politicians.
