Central Equatoria Business Union (CEBU) briefed Governor Agustino Jadalla Wani on progress of preparations for third edition of the Juba Economic Forum.

Chaired by Gen. Agustino Jadalla Wani, the meeting aimed to pinpoint the progress made in organizing the forum.

The event, themed “Promoting Commercial Agriculture as a Pathway Towards Economic Stability,” is scheduled to take place at the Bank of South Sudan (BOSS) Conference Hall from May 13-15, 2025.

The CEBU delegation included Mr. Thomas Muto Lo’ Buda (Patron & Consultant), Mr. Juma Khamis Juma (Chairman), Mr. Emmanuel Longo (Deputy Chairman), and Mr. Talib Juma (Partnership & Relationship Manager).

The central focus of the meeting was the support provided to the Union by the National Government, including confirmation of participation from other state governments, presentations from experts in the agriculture and financial sectors, and international delegates.

Additionally, they discussed the need for the State Government to prepare State Investment Opportunities (SIOs) for presentation during the Forum.

On another note, Mr. Thomas reminded the Governor of the need to expedite the Juba Special Economic Zone Act to facilitate investment.

According to Mr. Muto, “without the law, it will be difficult to attract investors.”

In response, the Governor expressed his gratitude and thanked the Union leadership for their commitment despite the challenges faced in their efforts to contribute to the socio-economic development of the state and the nation.

The Governor pledged his government’s full support to the Union’s activities.

“I have been monitoring your activities, and you are doing great and very professional work. Keep it up. I will call on the Economic Cluster to work with you in presenting the state’s investment opportunities. It’s time we work together to improve our economy,” he stated.
