Residents of Yei town were treated to deafening gunshots, last night in what later transpired to be an attempted incursion by suspected National Salvation Front rebels.
Yei River County Commissioner, Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa has this to say about the shooting.
“There was an abduction attempt at 8:15pm from armed men of National Salvation Front and then they had an encounter with SSPDF that’s why the shooting happened in the areas of Dam, Yei Town. But after being pursued by the SSPDF it was calm towards the morning.”
