Governor of Central Equatoria State Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani has urged the newly appointed officials in Juba City Council to embrace nationalism in delivering services to the people.
Speaking on Saturday during the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed leaders of the Juba City Council, State Revenue Authority, and Insurance Regulatory Authority at the State Secretariat in Juba, Governor Jadalla urged the officials to prioritize the needs of the people they serve.
“You have great responsibility because if you do not work, we cannot move forward. You have to consider cooperation among yourselves and your subordinates,” the Governor said.
“You call the association of water tankers drivers and sit with them. If someone doesn’t want to work, you just take the license.”
The governor specifically directed the Juba City Council to tackle pressing issues such as the regulation of water prices set by the council, waste management, and overall improvement of city services.
Governor Jadalla also called for transparency among state revenue-generating institutions, urging leaders to cooperate effectively with their teams.
Thiik Thiik Mayardit, the newly appointed Deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance, pledged his commitment to delivering essential services to the citizens of Juba City.
“The people of South Sudan, I will not let them down,” he declared.
Moses Idoru Nyama, Commissioner General of the State Revenue Authority, expressed gratitude to the governor for his trust and reiterated the new leadership’s dedication to serving the state.
“We will not focus on robbing our own State as if we are visitors in our own State. We will be focusing on how to deliver services. Your Excellency, we came naked and we will go naked,” he affirmed.
The swearing-in marks a crucial moment for Central Equatoria State as it seeks to enhance governance and improve public services under the new leadership.
