Central Equatoria State (CES) government is seeking increased police deployment in several rural areas following minor security incidents observed after the festive season.
During a security committee meeting chaired by Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu on Tuesday, officials stressed the need for additional police personnel in Wonduruba Administrative Payam in Lainya County and Tijor Payam in Juba County.
“We have also looked into the gaps in some places like Wonduruba Administrative Payam, Lainya County, and Tijor of Juba County which need a number of police forces to be deployed to ensure law and order for our people in these various areas,” said Leone Abe Brown, State-Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement.
While acknowledging the calm security situation during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the government stated that there is need for a stronger police presence in the mentioned areas.
During the meeting, Lukudu expressed appreciation to the members of the organized forces for maintaining law and order throughout the festive season.
The Deputy Governor also lauded the citizens for their cooperation and collective responsibility for ensuring security prevails during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
