Juba City Mayor Allah-Jabu submits annual budget

Juba city Mayor Michael Lado Allah-Jabu on Wednesday presented to the legislative council the annual budget of Juba City Council for the financial year 2023-2024.

The mayor, together with his deputy for administration and finance, submitted the rate schedule of the Juba City Council, which was drafted by the executive organ.

The Juba City Legislative Council is expected to deliberate on it and pass it into a workable document.

Mayor Allah-Jabu requested cooperation between the legislative council and the executive organ to work together as a team in harmony for the well-being of the people in the city.

He also appealed to the honorable councilors to come out with motions to support the implementation of policies within their context.

The mayor assured that they will be working hard with the councilors to stand firm for the welfare and interests of the people of Juba City.

He urged council to formulate necessary motions to be translated into bills and then into bylaws to regulate the behavior of the people within the context of Juba City Council.

Mayor Allah-Jabu emphasized the need to ensure that there should be in Juba City regulation of prices for basic essential commodities such as water, flour, and others, including fuel.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of Juba Legislative Council, Hon. Dina Keji John, said that Juba City Legislative Council should continue to abide by and follow laws and budget pass within its jurisdiction.
