A speedy car overturned on Magwi-Torit Road in Torit County, Eastern Equatoria State of South Sudan, causing serious injuries to four people on board.

Director for traffic police in Eastern Equatoria state, 2nd Lt. Adam Satiro Emmanuel, told No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper that the incident happened at around 3:00 Am on Wednesday.

“The people who were injured are only four including the driver, nobody died, and the driver is 28-year-old Emmanuel,” Satiro said.

Torit-Magwi highway has seen a decrease in accident cases this year, with only three deaths recorded compared to the previous years, where many lives were lost, the police said.

Mr. Satiro urged drivers to use the Torit-Magwi road with care as it has numerous corners, valleys and hill slops.

He said, drivers should be mindful of the lives of those in their cars by travelling responsibly, and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol.

He also emphasizes the administration’s commitment to keeping drivers informed about traffic rules and regulations on highways.
