By Bosco Bush

Following the rising concerns of insecurity-related issues, the Central Equatoria State (CES) government has on Tuesday, passed some relevant measures to curb the tensions.

In their ordinary security meeting chaired by Deputy Governor, Paulino Lukudu, the meeting discussed and adopted several resolutions to address issues of land grabbing, border dispute in Kajo–Keji–Moyo and gang robbery.

The recent killing of 3 people attributed to land grabbing in Jebel Ladu Payam was also discussed.

Addressing the media after the meeting, CES Acting Minister of Information, Gerald Francis said, the Commissioner of Juba County has been instructed to temporarily relocate his office to Jebel Ladu in a bid to quell the situation.

“Now our Commissioner of Juba County has been instructed to move his headquarters to Ladu Payam where these issues of massive land grabbing are taking place. With his presence in the area that issue will be brought to an end,” said Francis.

Apart from the Jebel Ladu incident, the latest of land-grabbing-related conflict was reported around Amadi, Juba on Tuesday.

Francis noted that the relevant authorities have been dispatched and “directed to act and tackle the reported incidents with immediate effect.”

Regarding the Kajo–Keji–Moyo border dispute, the security committee recommended the need to revisit previous resolutions with the neighbouring Ugandan districts of Moyo and Yumbe.
