Acting Executive Director of Terekeka County, Sali Jadalla, has urged residents to shun cattle raiding and violence.
Speaking at a thanksgiving prayer service in Wujungani Boma, Sali stressed that it is important to embrace peace and education for the county’s development.
“Please leave cattle raiding and i call on the chief to ensure that youth are advised to stop such acts related to cattle theft,” Sali said.
“Stop violent; do not fight yourself; stay as one people, resolve your disputes peacefully, and concentrate on development,” he added.
The Acting Executive Director highlighted the role of traditional leaders in promoting peace and discouraging revenge attacks.
He urged communities to prioritize education and ensure that all children, especially girls, attend school.
“Please, parents and children, leave the issue of wrestling aside; let it not be a daily activity; may be once and at the weekend,” he said.
Jadalla also called on the community to focus on agriculture and other economic activities to improve their livelihoods.
