Jadalla messages unity, on Juba tour

By William Madouk

Governor of Central Equatoria State, Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has begun his tour of Juba County to assess local challenges and promote peace, stability, and unity.

Addressing the crowd, governor Jadalla stated that his purpose of visit has three key objectives, which include assessing the living conditions, and fostering security and peace.

“One, to assess the living conditions and security situation of our people. Peace and stability remain a top priority for our country,” he said.

“Number two, to evaluate the challenges in services or service delivery and provision of humanitarian assistance to those in need. To strengthen unity among the people of Juba County and Central Equatorial State,” Jadalla added.
He commended the leadership and the people of Juba County for their resilience and commitment to maintaining peace.

“Peace is the foundation of development and without it, no meaningful progress can be achieved,” he noted.

“I urge all of us to remain steadfast in promoting peace, reconciliation and unity. Let us stand together as one people regardless of our differences,” the governor advised.

The State leader cited that Juba County should be a model of harmony where every citizen feels safe and valued.
“Today’s responsibility in initiating homegrown grassroots peace dialogue to address grievances, particularly with armed opposition groups,” he said.

He said dialogues should be guided by the spirit of brotherhood and acceptable terms to end conflicts that devastate communities and jeopardize the future of children.

“To the sons and daughters of Juba County and Central Equatorial State who have taken arms in pursuit of political grievances,” Jadalla stated.

“I urge you to reconsider … The sooner we do this the better. We cannot allow parts of our state to remain war zone,” he continued.

Jadalla underscored that history teaches that no war ends in total victory rather negotiated settlement through dialogue has always been the most effective way to resolve political disputes.

On security matters, the governor admits that insecurity remains a significant challenge in the community or in the state.

“I want to assure you that the state government in collaboration with security agencies is committed to ensuring that every resident of Juba County lives without fear, knowing that their lives and property are protected,” he said.

Besides, Gen Jadalla asked the leadership of Juba County to develop and implement a comprehensive land policy that includes improved land demarcation and registration to prevent disputes and ensure transparency.

“Secondly, conflict prevention and resolution mechanism to address current future land dispute.

“Thirdly, organize land allocation ensuring that non-indigenous residents of Juba acquire land legally. Number four, strict measures against land grabbing including harsh penalties for violators.

He hinted at public education to create awareness of land rights and responsibilities to prevent future disputes, asserting “let us demarcate some area and let us give gazetted land.”
