Jadalla calls for peace, unity

By Kei Emmanuel Duku

Governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani of Central Equatoria State has called for peace and unity among the State’s diverse communities.

This appeal follows the peaceful and successful celebration of Eid Al-Fitr in the state and comes at a time when fostering social cohesion is particularly vital.

In his Eid al-Fitr message, the Governor emphasized Ramadan’s importance as a period of reflection, forgiveness, and communal harmony.

He urged all Muslim faithful and residents within the state and beyond to set aside their differences and embrace the values of peace and mutual respect.

“Ramadan fosters unity among families and communities through fasting, prayers, and charity. It is a blessing for our nation, reinforcing faith, endurance, and gratitude,” stated Jadalla. He noted that the period of fasting marks a time for seeking divine mercy, forgiveness and renewing commitment to a just and harmonious society.

Governor Jadalla urged state residents to uphold inclusivity, tolerance, and mutual respect among all faiths and cultures.

He further added that the Eid Al-Fitr celebration should reaffirm the principles of inspiring harmony, unity, and understanding among South Sudanese.

“The spirit of Ramadan—patience, humility, and compassion—should guide our actions as we strive for a society rooted in mutual respect and shared prosperity,” he added.

Jadalla’s call for unity is timely, particularly as the country experiences political, economic, and social challenges.
